What is a Slow Moving ASIN?

Slow-moving ASIN is an ASIN that amazon considers a product that typically does not sell fast on their site. Amazon uses various metrics to decide if an ASIN is Slow Moving. They include the number of sellers, total sales over a certain amount of days, total reviews/review types.

Note: Slow Moving is not based on Rank and has nothing to do with the sales per month. Amazon does not publicly document their various conditions to consider an ASIN Slow Moving, but you can find more information on the Amazon Seller Forums

The primary reason why Amazon tags an ASIN as Slow Moving is to alert an Amazon that they have determined:

  • They that have enough of this ASIN stocked
  • This ASIN is not moving out of the warehouse in the volume that meets their metric for the category the ASIN is in.

AZInsight will display an icon on the top bar when it has detected that ASIN is moving, as shown below.
